Laravel is a free, open source PHP web application framework released in 2012 and just as Zend Framework and Symfony designed for the development of model–view–controller (MVC) web applications (Wikipedia). Instructions for Windows 7 / Xampp install.
Assumptions: Xampp present, Composer present, Xdebug present
* move to the xampp/htdocs folder and create project
composer create-project laravel/laravel lavarel –prefer-dist
* the project (v4.2.0) is installed in de htdocs/laravel directory, set vhost file and hosts file accordingly. Among the libraries installed are many symfony libraries.
* Contrary to ZF, lavarel does not have a separate skeleton project. The index page is accessible right from the start.
Notable features. The composer autoload_classmap.php already contains about 1500 entries for the entire library. The Xdebug result is 3386 calls (2200 if you hide the library functions). recall that for Zend Framework II the figure is 6379, that is almost twice as much.
